HELLO!

Welcome back. Seven years after my first ride across the United States, I am doing it again.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 50 - Tallahassee to Live Oak (79.7 miles)

A fun day, more scenic than yesterday although we rode on 90 East for most of the day. Nice post breakfast stop at Tupelo’s Bakery, mile 19, for quiche & strawberry scone. Visited Ray Charles’ hometown of Greenville, lunch at Popeyes in Madison. Staying at the Suwanee County Fairgrounds, our last “indoor” camping of the trip.

Unfortunate incident occurred at the end of today’s ride: Terri, from Michigan, fell trying to avoid debris in the bike lane. She broke her pelvis and needs surgery. The entire group is bummed and hoping for her quick recovery.

John, a 36 year old solo Southern Tier rider we met on the road today. He’s in between jobs.

In a nearby building to our campsite, cattle rustling by local towns people was happening. Here, a young girl competes in the “dummy cow” competition.

Day 49 - Marianna to Talahassee (86.2 miles)
