HELLO!

Welcome back. Seven years after my first ride across the United States, I am doing it again.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 4 - Jacumba to Calexico (52.9 miles)

After yesterday, our ride today was easier. While still 52.9 miles, the head winds and elevation gain were much less. A ten mile downhill on Interstate 8 with a 6% grade was very invigorating. So many windmills today. The other dominant feature was the desert views all the way to the horizon.

A view of the ten mile downhill on Interstate 8.

Windmills everywhere

More scenery

Funky, untrimmed palm trees

An avocado & fruit stand I stopped at for two oranges

SAG stop at mile 36

Street grader at a desolate stretch of highway.

Across the street from the Calexico Mission School we’re staying at, is the Mexico / US wall.

Day 5 - Calexico to Yuma (60.3 miles)

Day 3 - Alpine to Jacumba (52.3 miles)
