HELLO!

Welcome back. Seven years after my first ride across the United States, I am doing it again.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 3 - Alpine to Jacumba (52.3 miles)

We “earned our stripes” today. A tough riding day: 52.3 miles taking over 7 hours. Why? 4,934 ft of climbing with headwinds of 25 mph! The second day is traditionally a difficult day, but Barb, the owner, stated the winds made the ride “twice as hard”.

Highlights today included rocky vistas, the Rattlesnake sculpture in Jacumba, windmills, and the first views of the wall separating Mexico and the US.

After dinner team meeting to discuss today’s ride and what to expect tomorrow. That’s Barb Hoyt, owner of Timberline Adventures.
