Today was a non riding day, but I was ecstatic to visit with Ian, who flew in from Pittsburgh to see me during the tour. He arrived at 7 pm yesterday and visited until 2 pm today. We walked to the end of Pelican Peninsula, went to Fort Gaines, drove the length of the island, hung out at the dock by the B&B, and went to the DI Indian Shell Mound Park, a popular birdwatching spot. Food stops included Pirates (po’ boy), Harborhouse B&B (full breakfast), Lighthouse Bakery (cinnamon rolls, danish), Skinners Seafood (grouper, shrimp, red potatoes), Dockside Bar (beer), Island Rainbow (ice cream). Ian wanted to make sure my calorie intake was adequate. It is.
