HELLO!

Welcome back. Seven years after my first ride across the United States, I am doing it again.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 6 - Yuma, AZ to Dateland, AZ (74.4 miles)

For the first time on this tour, we had a slight tailwind. I was starting to really question whether the “West to East prevailing winds” really exist. (The jury is still out). We enjoyed riding through the agricultural valley by the Fortuna Foothills outside of Yuma. Fields of lettuce (several types), kale, cabbage, and broccoli were abundant. Towns along the route included Wellton and Tacna before arriving in Dateland, where we are camping (first time) at the Dateland RV Park.

America’s Salad Bowl

A great lunch stop at Mile 48. Chicken Pesto Sandwich with tater tots was my choice.

Inside Jac’s Whistle Stop

Mile 60 scenery. I wanted a break from riding, so I called out “Picture” and the whole group stopped. Works every time.

Day 7 - Dateland to Gila Bend (51.1 miles)

Day 5 - Calexico to Yuma (60.3 miles)
