HELLO!

Welcome back. Seven years after my first ride across the United States, I am doing it again.

This blog will document my trek.

Day 7 - Dateland to Gila Bend (51.1 miles)

After a big day yesterday, today’s ride was 51 miles. While relatively flat, with a 5-9 headwind, the temperature did reach the upper 80’s.

Highlights included Gila Bend, an excellent lunch stop at Sophia’s REAl Mexican food, the Middle of Nowhere, the Gila Bend Historical Museum, camping in the library at Gila Bend High School, and the southwestern scenery, so different from NY.

Irrigation Equipment

Last night’s first outdoor camping experience. My tent is the one without the rain fly. Not needed last night.

SAG stop at mile 35. Drinking lots of fluids on a hot day.
